This is a fluorescent dogtooth calcite mineral specimen from the Santa Eulalia mines in Mexico. It is a fluorescent red on all sides under a UV lamp. All of the crystals are drusy, as if they have a coating of clear calcite crystals on them.
This mineral specimen measures approx 3.5 in tall by 3.5 in wide and 3.5 in long.
It is calcium carbonate, CaCO3, and is used in the production of cement, lime, the steel & glass industry, and is an ornamental stone. Calcite is CHALIX in Greek, the word for lime. The crystals on this piece are drusy rhombohedron shaped.
On the metaphysical side rhomboid calcite calms the mind and is a healer of the past. {sku 1258}
