This is an Aragonite honey colored mineral specimen from the mines in Santa Eulalia, Mexico. Aragonite is the second most common polymorph of natural calcium carbonate (aka calcite).
Each of the little columns appear to have crystals that stacked on top of each other, and they branch out like coral does. Even the bottom is pretty with the layer of red clay like rock covering some of the crystals.
This aragonite specimen measures approx 3 in wide by 5 in long by 3 in tall and it weighs 380 grams. {sku 1033}
